Welcome to Elderfield Elderfield Tools
A first-week calendar and honest hardware notes — not another copy of the guides hub.
This hub is for checklists and specs, not lore. Welcome to Elderfield already has guides for how systems work. Tools answers two narrower questions: what to do on each of the first seven days, and whether your PC or Deck will run the thing. The full game is dated September 10, 2026 on Steam PC. The free demo has been playable since October 2024. Use that demo as practice. It is not a substitute for reading the live store page.
Pages in this hub
- First-week planner — day-by-day: house, Tanner, Hans, wheat, scarecrow, Molly’s copper, Sam’s note, then the mall with food.
- System requirements — older demo notes (Windows 8.1, N4100, 4GB, DX9) versus the newer store copy (Windows 10 64-bit, i5-11600K / Ryzen 5 5600X, 8GB, GTX 1050 Ti / RX 570, DX11), plus Steam Deck Verified and controllers.
If you are still in the kitchen on day one, open the planner. If the game will not launch, open specs. If you want crop math or boss order, leave this hub and use the tier list.
What a “tool” is here
A tool is a page you keep in a second tab while you play. The first-week planner is a calendar with links into farming, combat, sleep, the mall, and gifts. The specs page is a translation layer between press copy, demo-era hardware lines, and whatever Steam shows this week.
This is not a damage calculator and not a seed finder. Elderfield’s luck rolls and mall layouts do not need a spreadsheet to start. They need wheat in the ground and a meal in the bag.
How to use both pages together
- Confirm the live Steam page and the system requirements notes. RPG Maker titles often run below a marketing minimum. Trust Steam over a screenshot of an old spec block.
- Install the demo if you want a rehearsal. Wishlist the September 10, 2026 build either way.
- Follow the first-week planner even in the demo. The habits transfer: Tanner, Hans, wheat, scarecrow, Molly, news, Sam, mall.
- When the planner says “rank your field,” open crop ranks. When it says “don’t pick Nightmare,” open combat ranks.
- When a neighbor’s face falls, open gifts. When a door asks for a number, open mysteries.
Launch week versus demo week
The demo is a vertical slice: part of town, the farm and ranch, the mall as dungeon one. The full game is expected to grow the town, add more dungeons, and hang extra systems (Old God alignment, calendar events) on the same loops. The planner still starts the same way because Hans still wants wheat. Specs may still disagree with themselves because store pages get rewritten. That disagreement is documented on purpose; we will not hide the N4100 line or the i5-11600K line.
Controller support is full. Steam Cloud and Achievements are listed on the store. Steam Deck Verified was announced in late August 2026. If a Deck launch still hiccups, the specs page tells you to check Proton versions and the live compatibility badge, not a random forum screenshot from 2024.
What not to do with this hub
Do not skip Getting Started because a planner exists. The planner assumes you can leave the house. Do not skip controls if a bind broke after an update. Do not treat the spec table as a flex; Elderfield is a hand-drawn RPG Maker horror farm, not a ray-traced benchmark.
Keep updates nearby for the date, the demo notes, and the Next Fest trailer. Keep links nearby for Steam and official channels. Then close the extra tabs and water the radishes. The useful tool in Elderfield is still the watering can, followed by a cooked leftover, followed by the decision not to enter the mall hungry.
If you only open one child page, open the first-week planner. Hardware anxiety is solved once. The Tax Man is recurring.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Where is the Welcome to Elderfield first-week checklist?
On the first-week planner. Day one is house, Tanner, Hans, and wheat — not the mall.
What PC do I need?
Check the live Steam page first. This wiki records both the older demo-era line and the newer marketing spec on system requirements.
Is the game Steam Deck Verified?
Kwalee announced Steam Deck Verified in late August 2026, with full controller support. Confirm the badge on Steam; see system requirements.
Is this hub a replacement for guides?
No. Use Getting Started for onboarding and this hub for the calendar plus hardware notes.
Does the planner include gifts and the mall?
Yes. Days four and five lean on news, Sam's note, and gifts. Days six and seven are mall-with-food, then Hall Monitor when ready.
