Welcome to Elderfield Elderfield Updates
Dates, demo scope, and the trailer — not a fake patch-notes dump.
Welcome to Elderfield is still upcoming. The full PC release is dated September 10, 2026 on Steam. A free vertical-slice demo has been playable since October 2024. This hub is the timeline: when it ships, what the demo already contains, and the Next Fest trailer for flavor. It is not a daily patch blog, and it will not claim the game “launched” before Steam says so.
Chris Cote developed it. Kwalee publishes it. It is a single-player cozy horror farming RPG. If a random post calls it a Roblox title, that post is wrong.
Pages in this hub
- Release date — September 10, 2026 Steam PC, languages, wishlist notes, and what “upcoming” still means.
- Demo notes — town slice, farm and ranch, mall as dungeon one, demo v0.11.17 localization, and how that maps to the full game.
- Art contest — community winners posted 17 August 2026, prizes, and the closed submission window.
Read the date page if you are asking “when.” Read demo notes if you are asking “what can I play today.” Read the art contest page for the winner list. Then use Getting Started or the first-week planner instead of refreshing this hub every hour.
What we will and will not log
We log store-facing dates, demo scope, Steam Deck Verified announcements, and language additions. We will not invent patch numbers. We will not paste every patron alpha changelog. We will not mark the full game as out until content/facts.json says so.
Recent store-facing beats worth knowing:
- October 2024: Steam demo goes up as a vertical slice.
- 2025–2026: demo builds continue (farm visitors, crop load fixes, localization work).
- 17 August 2026: art contest winners posted (five prize entries; all entrants received a wallpaper).
- Late August 2026: Steam Deck Verified announced alongside Clemmy’s BIG Fall Showcase (1 September 2026).
- 27 August–10 September 2026: official launch giveaway window.
- 1 September 2026: demo v0.11.17 localization notes (Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, French, German, Russian).
- 8 September 2026: advertised press-embargo lift for final reviews and streams.
- September 10, 2026: dated full Steam PC release.
Hardware details for those builds live on system requirements, not here.
Trailer versus patch notes
The Next Fest trailer embedded on this page is a mood piece: farm, mall, townsfolk, Old Gods energy. It is not a changelog. If a mechanic in the trailer disagrees with a guide, the guides hub and your current demo build win. Trailers compress. Saves do not.
When a real 1.0 notes post exists after launch, it should get its own child page. Until then, do not look for a fake “balance update” on a game that is still dated in the future.
How updates interact with play advice
Crop ranks, combat ranks, and gift tables can shift when seed prices or boss AP change. Until that happens, use crop ranks and combat ranks as demo-informed advice. Townsfolk locations on the roster can shift with tasks; that is not a patch, that is a schedule override.
If Steam moves the date, this hub will say so. If you need official channels, use links. If you need to play, the demo is the rehearsal and the demo walkthrough is the map.
Elderfield’s news program inside the game is more reliable than social media rumors about the game. Watch the in-game broadcast for mysteries. Watch Steam for the ship date. Watch this hub for a translation of both into wiki pages. Then close the news and water the field; the Tax Man does not accept trailers as payment.
